Overview

Institute of Green Chemistry and Chemical Technology (IGCCT) of Jiangsu University was established in May 2015, with the aim of meeting the national medium and long-term strategic demand of the development of green chemistry and chemical technologies, with the long-term objectives of the establishment of national, provincial and ministerial key laboratories, building of an edge-cutting, international advanced and distinctive platform, and construction of a forward-based system of high-level talents training and new technological industrialization and commercialization.

IGCCT consists of four research divisions: separation science and technology, photochemical and catalytic chemistry and technology, green chemical process and environmental protection, analytical technologies and applications. The multidisciplinary team of IGCCT has 50 academic staffs, including 20 professors (15 PhD supervisors), 19 associate professor. Among them, 3 obtained the research funding from the National Excellent Youth Foundation of China and 1 from the Outstanding Youth Foundation of Jiangsu Province of China, 2 New Century Talents of the Ministry of Education of China, 1 special engaged professor of Jiangsu Province of China, 3 Innovation and Creation Talents of Jiangsu Province of China, 2 ‘333’ high-level talents of Jiangsu Province of China, 5 ‘Six-peak’ high-level talents of Jiangsu Province of China, 2 middle-aged academic leaders of the ‘Qinglan’ program of the universities of Jiangsu Province of China, 3 middle-aged academic leaders of Jiangsu University, 7 excellent young core-teachers of Jiangsu University. The academic team was awarded a Top Ten Postgraduate Supervisor Team in 2018.

The development of IGCCT is based on the key disciplines of Chemistry of Jiangsu Province, the doctor's or master's degree authorization centers of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Environmental Science and Technology, oriented by the fundamental research, towards the application of advanced technologies as a priority, aiming to solve key technical challenges and problems in the fields of chemistry, chemical engineering, environment and energy. After several years of endeavor, IGCCT has gradually built unique academic features and advantages, with the successful approved Advanced Chemical Engineering Laboratory of Green Materials and New Energy of Jiangsu Province, Innovation and Creation Research Team of Jiangsu Province, Key Laboratory of Green Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Zhenjiang.
