In order to make full use of the resources of international students in China and promote the integration of China and foreign countries, we now plan to recruit outstanding graduate students studying in China to serve as English teaching assistants (hereinafter referred to as assistants) for students in the class of Chinese-foreign credit mutual recognition program.



The specific matters are notified as follows:

Job Classification:


 

The positions recruited this time are teaching assistants and activity guides.


Job Responsibilities:
1. Teaching assistant position
  To familiarize with the class teaching plan, teaching content and key points through attending lectures, seminars and other methods, and conduct homework guidance, knowledge explanation and answering questions for class students through case analysis or after-class seminars for recent teaching content, at least once a week (each time not less than 2 hours), the total weekly time does not exceed 8 hours.

2. Activity guidance position
 In class English corner, English speech contest, English debate contest, humanistic knowledge exchange seminar and other activities, to guide students in oral English training at least once a week (each time not less than 2 hours), and the total time per week does not exceed 8 hours.

Job Overview:
1. Chinese-foreign credit mutual recognition program for undergraduates in the School of Computer Science, major: computer science and technology, number: 30, guidance time: Monday afternoon 7-8 sessions. Number of recruits: 1 teaching assistant position, 1 activity guidance position.

2. Chinese-foreign credit mutual recognition program for undergraduates in the School of Electrical Engineering, major: electrical engineering and automation, number: 29, guidance time: Wednesday afternoon 5-6 or 7-8 sessions. Number of recruits: 1 teaching assistant position and 2 activity guidance positions.

3. Chinese-foreign credit mutual recognition program for undergraduates in the School of Finance and Economics, class: Finance 2001, number: 29,guidance time: Wednesday afternoon 5-6 sessions. Number of recruits: 1 teaching assistant position, 2 activity guidance positions.

4.  Chinese-foreign credit mutual recognition program class for undergraduates of the School of Finance and Economics, class: Finance 1901, number: 22, guidance time: Friday morning 3-4 sessions. Number of recruits: 1 teaching assistant position, 2 activity guidance positions.

Application Requirements:
This recruitment is for the overseas postgraduates who are studying in our University (except for those who have exceeded the length of study). No record of violation of discipline or failure in examination, and those who have obtained scholarships at all levels under the same conditions are preferred.
1.  The major of the applicant for the teaching assistant position is similar to that of the instructing class. There is no limit to the major of the activity guidance position. The guidance position of activity guidance is preferred in this recruitment.
2. Have a strong interest and enthusiasm for participating in undergraduate English teaching guidance and planning and organizing English learning activities.
3. The English pronunciation and intonation are pure, the basic grammar skills are solid, the spoken English is fluent and natural, with a good academic foundation in English and strong communication skills.
4. Those who have experience in student activity organization, international exchange, or of serving as student leaders are preferred.

Application Process:
1. Applicants should fill in the "Application Form for English Study Assistant of Jiangsu University" as required, and submit it to Office 208 of the International Office before the end of the day on October 20, 2020.
2. The International Office is responsible for organizing the selection of international graduate students applying for assistants and selecting the best candidates.

Assessment and Payment of Living Allowance:
1. The probation period for assistants is one month after being hired. After the probation period expires, the college will evaluate and rank the assistants' work effectiveness through the "English teaching Assistant Work Effectiveness Questionnaire Evaluation Form of Jiangsu University" (Annex 2). Assistants who are rated as excellent, good, and qualified will receive living allowances at the standard of RMB 70, 60, and 50 per hour, and continue to be hired; assistants who are rated as unqualified will be given living allowances at the standard of RMB 30 per hour for work, and will not be employed again.
2. The assistant fills out the "English teaching Assistant Assessment Form of Jiangsu University" (Annex 3) and submits it to the college on the 20th week each semester. The college will evaluate the assistant's work in the semester and grade it based on the questionnaire. Assistants who have been assessed as good or above in the final assessment will be rewarded according to the standard of 5%-10% of the approved living allowance. Assistants with qualified and above grades can continue to be employed in the next semester. "Application Form for English Study Assistant of Jiangsu University" shall be submitted in the following semester. Assistants with unqualified grades will no longer be employed in the next semester.
