For English-taught Undergraduates

1. The new semester will start on February 13th, 2023 and all international undergraduates outside China are required to attend online teaching and students in China have to attend offline classroom teaching from February 13th, 2023. For the freshmen, the start time will be announced later.

2. Before the start of the course, students are required to join the WeChat or QQ teaching groups established by their course teachers.

3. Three teaching forms will be adopted in the new semester. Specifically, online teaching will be adopted if all the students of the course are outside China. If the students of the course are all in China, offline classroom teaching shall be adopted. For the course whose students are partially outside and partially in China, the method of “offline classroom teaching + simultaneous live/recorded broadcasting” will in principle be adopted. In any case, students should follow the arrangements of the course teachers.

4. Students will be informed, through the WeChat, QQ work group or the online teaching platforms (e.g. Ding talk, Yu Classroom, Tencent Class, Tencent Meeting, Tencent QQ, etc.), about the teaching arrangements, teaching objectives, teaching outlines, teaching progress, teaching materials, reference books, and assessment methods, etc.

5. Online make-up exams for the last semester (2022-2023-1) will be arranged within the first week of the new semester. The form of the final exams in the new semester will depend on the way the course is taught and the students will be informed beforehand. If students can take part in neither offline nor online teaching, they will have to apply for a postponement.

6. For students still outside China, online practice (experiment) teaching, if feasible, will be organized by means of video recording and virtual simulation. Otherwise, these courses will be postponed. For students in China, these courses will be normally organized according to the teaching syllabus. In both cases, the students will be notified in advance.

7. For online teaching courses, students are required to make full use of the after-class online discussion and Q&A organized by their course teachers each week.

8. Students outside China, who are on their way back to school, must participate in online teaching if possible; if not, students should contact their course teacher and study the teaching materials provided by the teacher.

9. The arrangement of graduation project (thesis) will be made online if the graduating students are still outside China before the end of the new semester.

For Chinese-taught undergraduates, please wait for the notice from the Academic Affairs Department of Jiangsu University.
